Lightly browned and slightly creased with central horizontal fold, details of agreement to reverse in ink, but generally in good order.

William Brown, aged sixteen, with the consent of his father Simon Brown of Heydon, Essex, a shepherd, binds himself apprentice to George Machon of Barkway, Herts., as a boot and shoemaker, for five years, signed by those involved, with wax seals, also included is a small piece of paper noting that this expires at Michaelmas 1832 and at that time to be given up to the apprentice, with the mark of George Machon
