Later (late-eighteenth century) full-calf, raised bands, spines in six panels, contrasting title / volume labels to second and third panels, volute corner pieces and central lozenge shaped tool to remaining panels, gilt flower head frame to covers, all edges marbled with blue paste endpapers.
Slightly rubbed to extremities, volume two chipped to head of spine with small amount of loss. Minor browning internally, but generally fairly bright and clean. Additional engraved title, letterpress title in red and black. Pieter Burmann was a Dutch classical scholar.
