Later (late-eighteenth century) full-calf, raised bands, spines in six panels, contrasting title / volume labels to second and third panels, volute corner pieces and central lozenge shaped tool to remaining panels, gilt flower head frame to covers, all edges marbled with blue paste endpapers.
Chipped to head of spines, corners bumped and worn, volume label of volume one is chipped with loss. Pages slightly browned, but clean and fairly bright. Previous owners name to title and first page of text.
Additional engraved title. Dibdin notes that this is a very elegant and desirable edition … Copies of it are scarce and in request … the printed title to some copies is dated 1691″ (Dibdin II:348
