Slightly later full calf, raised bands, spines in six panels, leather title label to second panel, volume label to third, remaining panels gilt, covers with inner triple fillet frame in blind, three double fillet frames in gilt, the last two infilled with a flowery stem roll, gilt roll to edges and inner edges, a.e.g., non-pareil marbled endpapers
Small repair to head of volume one, head cap of same volume very slightly chipped, small stain to top part of upper cover of volume two with a couple of bumps to fore edge of front board, both slightly rubbed to extremities, light foxing to endpapers, R8 and signature S in volume one also lightly foxed, O1 in volume one and S1 in volume two with stain to gutter from silk markers.
Bound without half titles and the later second supplement (published in 1860) is not present here
