Dated the 27th of September, 1693, and relating to the ‘town’ of Lyndon in Rutland, a receipt for the tax due to King William and Queen Mary, by virtue of an Act of Parliament, entitled “An Act for Granting Their Majesties an Aid of Four Shillings in the Pound for One Year, for Carrying on a Vigorous War against France”.
The printers Vincent and Conningsby (or Coningsby) specialised in the printing of an array of ‘forms’, including these blanks for tax collection, see Plomer page 79 for Coningsby, and page 297 for Vincent
