Two volumes complete – North Wales, 332pp, ; South Wales , 284pp, . Uniform half calf and marbled paper over boards, raised bands, spines in six panels, morocco title label to second panel, remaining panels with gilt double fillet border, shell corner pieces joined by elongated volutes and pointille, ‘Stormont’ pattern marbled endpapers, all edges marbled.
Very minor wear to extremities. Internally the additional engraved titles are browned, the tissue-guarded plates are generally lightly browned to edges, with light foxing, occasionally to subject. Both maps are hand-coloured in outline and are quite bright and clean, the map of South Wales has a tear along one fold, but with no loss. Text is generally quite bright and clean. Previous owners (Edward Lee) armorial bookplate to front pastedowns. Quite an attractive pair with all one hundred plates and two maps called for.
