The Antient Chronicles of Sir John Froissart, of England, France, Spain, Portugal, Scotland, Brittany, and Flanders, and the Adjoining Countries. London: W. McDowall for J. Davis, 1814. Reprint. 4to. Hardback. Good. Four volumes complete 1814-1816 – Volume One – [5], vi-viii, [1], 10-693pp, [1]; Volume Two – [5], 4-651pp, [1]; Volume Three – [5], ii-iii, [1], 5-663pp, [1]; and Volume Four – [5], 6-615pp, [1]. Spines very slightly faded, otherwise externally very good. Internally some occasional light browning and foxing, occasionally heavier, a few parts browned in the second volume; the third volume has a few pages with off setting from leaves (now removed), pages 347/8 and 371/2 with loss to bottom corner (not affecting text), and a score to the fore edge margin of page 388; in the fourth volume the title and the first leaf are chipped to head, with a small amount of loss to the fore edge margin of page 140, but nothing too obtrusive

Possibly issued in parts, with volume and number notes printed to foot of text. With the bookplate of Sir Courtenay Mansel to front pastedowns, and another former owner’s name to head of titles
