Browned, creased from old folds, tiny hole catching one letter, but with no loss of sense, small tear to foot catching imprint, but without loss

The printer was W.[illiam] H.[enry] Vale (fl.1825 (or earlier)-1856 according to the BBTI, they have him at this address of 23 High Town between 1825-1850)

Cobbett’s attack on the evils of republicanism, issued from Pall Mall and dated 29th Sept. 1800, noting that the “emissaries of the republican faction … still preaching fanaticism and infidelity”. He goes on to claim that the “subjects of British king, like the sons of every provident and tender father, never know his value till they feel the want of his protection”, and “above all, to warn them against the arts of those ambitious and perfidious demagogues who would willingly reduce them to a level with the cheated slaves, in the bearing of whose yoke I have had the mortification to share”

Pearl 46 for the London printing by J. F. Dove. ESTC T231238 shows a London imprint, presumably the one printed by J. F. Dove (at Senate House, Bristol, and Harvard only), Library Hub offers a Ross imprint, printed by B. Powle (Bristol and Sheffield only), but this Hereford imprint is seemingly unrecorded

It appears to be accepted that this dates from 1800, but it seems possible that these provincial imprints are a little later?
