Contemporary full calf, smooth backs, spines in six panels, divided by single rules in blind, leather title label to second panel, volume number to third in blind
Rubbed to extremities, first volume slightly chipped to head of spine, upper joint of third volume with a small chip and slightly split but holding well, corners gently bumped. Internally some light browning to text and occasional light foxing, edges of title of first volume browned, but generally fairly bright and clean
Half title to volume three, and volumes two and three have an advertisement leaf (for law books sold by Butterworth) to rear
The fourth edition, updated from the third of 1793
Seemingly from the Halsey family library at Gaddesden Place, with a Halsey name to front pastedown, but without the usual bookplate
