Double page engraved dedication to George the Fourth, and four double page engraved views of Edinburgh, each image approximately 620mm x 250mm in size, with the sheet size being approximately 690mm x 350mm, in the original card covers with original label to upper cover
Old reback with marbled paper, covers moderately stained, chipped to edges and corners with small amounts of loss, plates with some light marginal soiling, one with split to fold, not touching image, and one creased, but images are generally quite bright and clean
Plates on india paper laid on to thick paper, drawn by Mary Stewart, and drawn on to stone by W.[illiam] Westall (see Alexander A Biographical Dictionary of British and Irish Engravers, 1714-1820, pages 976-977), and printed by C.[harles] Hullmandel
Stewart published a similar work a year earlier with the same title, but those views were all from Blackford Hill (Abbey Scenery 499), and these are all from Calton Hill
