Laid down on card, lightly browned, otherwise clean, with a manuscript poem to reverse of card

Dated July 23rd, 1814, and advertising a concert by a Mr. Stephenson, “one whom Nobody knows, and who comes from Nobody knows where – Who is not at all ‘celebrated’ at present and perhaps never will be, and yet a beautiful Poet, a charming Composer, an excellent Musician, and a delightful Singer &c.”, playing “two flutes, and on three flagelets at once”, later noting that only gentlemen will be admitted, “therefore Ragamuffins, Jacobins, Messrs. Tag, Rag and Bobtail and Co. need not give themselves the trouble to apply for admission”
