Two volumes bound in one – Volume I – [5], vi-vii, [2], 2-215pp, [1]; and Volume II – [5], vi-vii, [6], 6-212pp. Contemporary calf, smooth spine, divided into seven panels by gilt double lines, title label to second panel

Rubbed to extremities, corners bumped, repair towards foot of upper outer joint, light blue stain to foot of frontispiece, signatures M and N in the second volume with a small circular stain leading to the loss of one word on N1r, former owner’s initials to half titles, but otherwise internally fairly bright and clean

Armorial bookplate of George Forbes, 6th Earl of Granard (1760-1837). With both half titles and the engraved frontispiece drawn by Thelwall and engraved by Skelton (probably William Skelton (1763-1848), see Alexander, A Biographical Dictionary of British and Irish Engravers 1714-1820, pages 836-837), but bound without the list of subscribers
