Lettering to spine lightly rubbed, with loss to odd letter, but largely complete, vellum lightly soiled. Internally the head has been pulled at some point, leading to small tears to upper and lower pastedowns, edges of text block lightly browned, but the text itself is quite bright and clean
Title in red and black, with chapter titles in red
Number two hundred and eighty five of three hundred and sixty copies on paper, with another fourteen on vellum. With an etched portrait of the author by Webb, after Sir Joshua Reynolds, as a frontispiece
