Worn to extremities, minor chipping to spine ends, some foxing to edges of text block. Lightly browned internally, occasional small marks, but generally clean, bottom corner of D1 lost (not affecting text). Former owner’s book label to front pastedown
With a frontispiece and seven full page engravings, apparently by Thurston and engraved by Luke Clennell (see Alexander, A Biographical Dictionary of British and Irish Engravers, 1714-1820, pages 214-5)
The Mozley imprint is probably slightly misleading, the book was actually printed by A. Wilson in London, and there is a letter laid in discussing the likelihood that this was fairly common practice for the Mozley’s (and other provincial printers)
