Lightly browned, lightly creased from old folds, short tear to central fold with minor chipping to corners.

Note from Blanc, in French, to a Mr. Merivale, (probably Herman Merivale), sent from 20 Grand Parade, Brighton, dated 10 ?October 1866, thanking him for the piece he had sent which will be used in a new edition.

Herman Merivale was a professor of political economy at Oxford and later Permanent Under-Secretary for India.

Louis Jean Joseph Charles Blanc (29 October 1811 – 6 December 1882) was a French politician and historian. A socialist who favoured reforms, his political and social ideas greatly contributed to the development of socialism in France
