Contemporary full vellum, smooth backs divided into seven panels, author and title label to second panel, contrasting volume label to third, remaining panels gilt with small fleuron tooling, covers with blind tooled borders, spot pattern marbled endpapers, text block edges with pink paste patterns
Vellum covers very slightly sprung, minor discolouring to vellum, spines slightly dulled, small amount of loss to title label of second volume, labels to volumes six and eight rubbed, small dent to spine of the ninth volume with associated discolouring. Internally some light staining and occasional foxing, top edges of text blocks darkened, but generally fairly bright and clean. Book plate of James Peck to the front pastedown of volume nine only
Parallel Greek / Latin text, edited by Gronovius. There were apparently editions on varying types of paper, the paper here seems to be a decent quality laid paper, but I have never had another copy to compare it to
